OSHE Academy
The OSHE Academy is designed to address the increasing need for skilled mechanical and electrical engineers in healthcare settings. As hospitals face a shortage of professionals equipped to maintain and innovate critical infrastructure, this program provides targeted training that bridges traditional engineering knowledge with the specialized requirements of healthcare facilities. The curriculum focuses on the design, maintenance, and management of medical equipment and systems while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Launched June 2025, the OSHE Academy will bring training directly to healthcare facilities and offer a catalog of courses tailored to real-world hospital systems and challenges. The program is flexible and can evolve to include additional topics based on industry needs. Engineers and organizations can request custom training through an intake form available on the program’s website. Those interested in contributing as subject matter experts are encouraged to contact Robin Greene at workmaro@ohsu.edu.

A: No! We want to bring this to facilities with associate members for free!

A: Not yet, but we’re working with ASHE to have these educational offerings be accredited in the future.
